  • Assessment terms and conditions

    1- Stage validation

On the first day of the autumn holidays, the student will hand in to the Music Studies and Research Department a significant extract from his/her TEP (approximately 3 to 5 pages) written and formatted in accordance with the editorial standards recommended during the research methodology course and validated by the tutor (N.B.: the student indicates the name of his/her methodology teacher).

These TEP extracts are assessed by the student's methodology teacher, using an assessment grid with a grade (TB, B, AB, to be improved, to be revised, etc.) for each of the following points:

    - Problem-solving

    - Use of sources and distancing

    - Formatting

    - Compliance with editorial standards

    - Quality of writing

The assessment will be sent to the students and their tutor by email.

    2- Final validation

The student must submit the entire TEP (including any additional documents) in electronic format to the Music Studies Department no later than the first day of the winter holidays (February break) of the year following the submission of the subject.

The TEP is marked (out of 20) by a panel of 3 people (including the tutor); the mark is used to award a grade according to the following scale: from 12 to less than 14: Assez Bien; from 14 to less than 16: Bien; from 16 to less than 18: Très Bien; from 18 to 20: Très Bien avec félicitations.

The TEP with a mark of at least 12 out of 20 is validated with honours (ECTS credits :

9). If the average mark is less than 12/20 or if one of the three TEP assessors awards a mark of 6/20 or less, the TEP is not validated.

Validation of the TEP within the DSNPM/DE pathway validates the TEP of the second cycle.
