Course objectives and content
During their studies, students will be exposed to the full range of repertoires and ensembles. In addition to their main subject and the compulsory complementary subjects, they will be required to listen to teaching in the instrumental, singing and ensemble music classes. They will also attend orchestra or opera rehearsals.
The year is organised into complementary teaching periods:
1. At least 7 sessions with orchestra, led by Alain Altinoglu or guest conductors. The sessions include one or more days of work at the table and with the piano (depending on the programme), and several days with the orchestra; they generally end with a public concert.
2. Approximately three lessons a month, at the desk and with two pianos (taught by Alexandre Piquion), covering conducting techniques, preparation of the repertoire for the sessions and exploration of as much of the repertoire as possible.Sessions with partner orchestras or choirs, both in the region and abroad, help students to gain work experience.
