in cooperation with the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA), an association of European music universities, conservatoires and festivals in the field of chamber music, offer a joint European postgraduate programme in chamber music.
As part of the ECMA programme, the partner institutions organise regular sessions throughout the year in different European cities. Renowned professors are invited to work intensively with selected young professional ensembles, who receive extensive training through conferences, round tables and interdisciplinary workshops. ECMA constantly revisits the treasures of our cultural heritage and reveals the performing traditions of the vast chamber music repertoire from the eighteenth to the twenty-first century. This approach is based on cross-disciplinary research into philosophy and the musical language of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, as well as direct contact and collaboration with contemporary composers to help develop a new potential for interpretation of the highest quality. Exposure to Europe's diverse cultural and heritage environments helps to broaden horizons and deepen understanding of the music. By building networks with concert and festival producers and strongly supporting cooperation for public dissemination, ECMA also helps young chamber music groups to get the best possible start in professional life.
ECMA's partner institutions share a similar vision and intend to contribute, through music, to a society and a future greatly enhanced by the arts.
The general description of the programme applies to all partner institutions which, in offering this European Master's programme in chamber music, have adopted their own characteristics on the basis of this general description and in accordance with national regulations.
General description of the programme
The European Chamber Music Master Programme is a two-year programme designed to train independent and innovative chamber music students to meet the high professional standards expected on tomorrow's music scene.
Key aspects of the programme include the development of the artistic intentions and abilities of each member of the selected ensembles as chamber musicians.
