Unique of their kind, lyric diction classes are an invaluable resource for performance, enabling singers, piano accompanists, musicologists and conductors to discover the languages used in music, their structural and sound characteristics and their poetic traditions. This linguistic approach enables us to grasp the many aspects of the relationship between text and music in vocal music.

The German lyric diction course, which places particular emphasis on language as a musical element in composition, combines work on phonetics and pronunciation, translation and understanding of the poetic system, in order to give students the keys to the 'Bühnensprache', the official language used on German stages.
