Music for images (introduction)

Designed for short films, advertising, animation, documentaries and multimedia, composing for images requires precise musical and technical skills, in terms of composition and orchestration, as well as mastery of specific computer tools. Over the course of the year, models are created in collaboration with leading film schools such as Ateliers de Sèvres and Gobelins. Recordings are also made with top-class instrumentalists. This work enables students to acquire the fundamental skills needed to create music for images, while at the same time forging their own personal style.

To follow this course, students need to have previous experience of composing for the screen on a computer, as well as some basic musical writing and orchestration skills.
