French lyrical diction
Where is the tonic accent placed? What should I do with silent e's? Should "r "s be rolled or not? Poetic writing gives form to the art of lyricism. And understanding it is crucial to defending the French repertoire and its subtleties. By providing tools for understanding texts, the lyric diction course gives singers a better grasp of the delicacy of their language, so that they can deliver an interpretation informed by meaning. Through lectures, readings, discussions, practical exercises and the writing of sonnets and vaudevilles, the performers tackle a wide range of questions of a grammatical, prosodic, poetic, phonetic and historical nature.
Jazz and contemporary music sound recording
In years 3 and 4, sound recording workshops in partnership with students in the master's cycle of the Jazz and Improvised Music class enable students to master the various aspects of sound recording as part of a jazz or improvised music project. Through these experiences, as well as masterclasses, they acquire method and confidence in the choice and implementation of sound recording devices, in line with both artistic and technical issues.
