At the crossroads between music training, chamber music, instrumental and orchestral classes, the sight-reading class gives instrumentalists the essential solfeggio, musical and instrumental reflexes they need when faced with a new score. Once they have grasped the musical theme, they are in a position to give their own interpretation. This apprenticeship also forms the basis of collective playing, through ensemble sight-reading, which requires attentive listening to one's partners. Whether individual or collective, the course emphasises the concepts that are essential to all instrumental playing: intonation, rhythmic precision, nuances, flexibility of tone and the ability to construct a coherent musical phrase from reading.

Since 1661, with the creation of the Académie de Danse by Louis XIV, men's dance has continued to evolve. Known as the Danse Noble, it is a codified dance, influenced by the artistic and stylistic currents of each era right up to the present day. The specificity of men's ballet lies in the extreme virtuosity and complexity of the gyrations and jumps, while maintaining clarity and elegance at all times. As well as mastering the great variations in the repertoire, the classical dancer must be an excellent partner.

The Conservatoire continues this tradition of training versatile dancers, basing its teaching on the French and Russian schools.

Through exploration of the instrument's repertoire, historical perspective and in-depth technical work, this course aims to develop mastery of the instrument and a critical approach to interpretation. Particular attention is paid to listening to one's body, in order to prevent the aches and pains associated with playing the instrument. The face-to-face teaching approach allows for personalised learning, helping each student to reach his or her full potential.
