    1er CYCLE SUPERIEUR

    - The vocal training provided should enable young singers to pursue a professional career in their field
    in their field: opera, concert, recital, choir, vocal ensemble, teaching singing.

    - Vocal technique, interpretation of the repertoire.

    HIGHER CYCLE 2

    Development of artistic personality ;
    Ability to design and perform a recital independently;

    EVALUATION 1st CYCLE :

    FINAL EXAMINATIONS - 1ST CYCLE


    Examination at the end of the first year:


    1) a classical aria (from the 17th to the end of the 18th century)
    2) an aria from a lyric work
    The two arias must be from different periods and in different styles.
    3) a melody
    One of the three pieces must be in French.


    Examination at the end of the second year:


    1) an oratorio aria
    2) an aria from a lyric work written before 1800.
    3) an aria from a lyric work written after 1800.
    One of the arias must be in French.
    4) a melody in French or a foreign language.


    DNSPM FINAL EXAMINATION


    Public examination
    The programme, chosen in agreement with the teacher and lasting no more than 30 minutes, must
    include works from the following four groups
    1) oratorio
    2) opera written before 1800.
    3) Lyrical works written after 1800.
    4) mélodie in French or a foreign language.
    Each group may be represented by one or more pieces.
    One of the pieces must be representative of contemporary writing methods.
    The programme must include at least 3 languages (one of which must be in French).


    The 1er cycle supérieur de Chant certificate is awarded to students who have passed the DNSPM final exam.

    The certificate is awarded on the basis of the grade awarded by the jury at the end of the DNSPM final examination.
    Students in the 3rd year of the 1st cycle cycle supérieur are obliged to sit the DNSPM final examination at the end of the school year.
    Students in the 1st and 2nd years of the 1st cycle who feel that they can complete the DNSPM at the end of the school year must sit the DNSPM final examination at the end of the school year.

    The Diplôme National Supérieur Professionnel de Musicien (DNSPM) in singing is awarded to students who

    ASSESSMENT 2nd CYCLE :

    2ND YEAR RECITALS


    1st year recital (not open to the public) :
    The programme for the 1st year recital, lasting a maximum of 30 minutes, will be composed

    Group 1: opera, comic opera, operetta, musical comedy.
    Group 2: Melodies and Lieder.
    Group 3: oratorio.
    Group 4: contemporary music.
    The programme must include
    a) at least 3 pieces (including one in French) representing the first two groups;
    b) at least 3 modern languages (including French) in the programme as a whole.


    2nd year recital (public):
    A free recital chosen in agreement with the teacher, lasting a total of no more than 50 minutes (see specific technical sheet).


    AWARDS
    1st year recital: Mention Très Bien, Bien and Assez Bien.
    2nd year recital: with distinction (Très Bien, Bien, Assez Bien), taking into account both the conception and the performance of the recital.
    The Prix de Chant is awarded to the student who obtains an award in each of the 2 2nd year recitals.

    The Diplôme de 2e cycle supérieur de Chant, conferring the grade of Master, is awarded to the student
    when they have obtained all the following awards :

    - a certificate or attestation in each of the following compulsory complementary disciplines :
    . "B" vocal ensembles
    . Stage work and productions
    . baroque repertoire
    . role studies
    . modern languages
    - a certificate or attestation in each of the following specific disciplines :
    . research methodology
    . personal study work
    . practical aspects of the profession 3
    . practical aspects of the profession 4
    . introduction to teaching methods
    . professional experience
    The grade of the 2nd cycle diploma conferring the grade of Master is the grade obtained in the free recital in the second year of the 2nd cycle.

  • Duration of studies

    1st upper cycle :

    3 years maximum, with two hours of lessons per week with the teacher and 1 hour with the
    assistant.

    2nd higher cycle :

    2 years, two hours a week with the teacher and one with the assistant.
