French for Specific Purposes (FOS) applied to Music History A (see to Music History A study path):

This additional course (1 hour per week) is compulsory for students in the intermediate level group, following the orientation test, who are also enrolled in Music History A. It aims to develop their linguistic and musicological performance required by the diploma by providing linguistic support and guidance for the Music History A course.

Unique of their kind, lyric diction classes are an invaluable resource for performance, enabling singers, pianists, accompanists, conductors, musicologists and conductors to discover other cultures, to restore the singularities and poetry of the work in its original language.

By approaching language as musical material, the Russian lyric diction class is at the crossroads of instrumental aspects (specific effects of language on the resonance box), linguistic aspects (alphabet, rules of reading, syntax, versification) and intercultural aspects. Encouraged to make their own musical choices from among the great wealth of the Russian vocal repertoire, the students learn to be independent when faced with a work in Russian, and allow themselves to give a personal interpretation, without needing to know how to speak the language.
