Orchestra

Orchestra playing is an integral part of the Conservatoire's history: as early as 1803, the symphonies of Haydn, then Mozart and Beethoven, were played by students under the direction of François Antoine Habeneck. The Conservatoire Orchestra, now made up of 350 instrumentalists, represents an incredible resource for performers who learn to play together during numerous sessions. Developing attention to a conductor, a sense of listening and a collective spirit are among the fundamentals of this course, which also pays particular attention to knowledge of the repertoire and rehearsal techniques. Both at the Conservatoire and with renowned orchestras, instrumentalists prepare for the profession of orchestral musician under professional conditions.
