Through exploration of the instrument's repertoire, historical perspective and in-depth technical work, this course aims to develop mastery of the instrument and a critical approach to interpretation. Particular attention is paid to listening to one's body, in order to prevent the aches and pains associated with playing the instrument. The face-to-face teaching approach allows for personalised learning, helping each student to reach his or her full potential.

Research methodology is a compulsory subject for all students in singing, jazz, early music, classical and contemporary instrumental disciplines, writing, composition and conducting.

At the end of the course, the dissertation gives students the opportunity to carry out independent research into their areas of interest, as a synthesis of all the knowledge acquired throughout the course. The result of a rigorous approach to an original field of research, the work is regularly published in scientific journals or presented at international conferences, including the Audio Engineering Society congresses.

This course focuses on understanding and learning about all the mechanisms of auditory perception from the points of view of the physiology of the ear, psycho-acoustics and cognitive psychology. Emphasis is placed on specific fields of application, such as research into the spoken and sung voice, auditory illusions and listening tests.
