Advanced preparatory year (1 year)

 

Entrance examination 2025-2026

 

Required age: 14 to 17 (the age indicated is understood to be on 1 October 2025).

 

Registration: from 10 October to 15 November 2024 on the Internet www.conservatoiredeparis.fr

 

Application fee: €88.00 (only CROUS "higher education" scholarship holders are exempt from this fee. Scholarship notification must be submitted by 14/11/2024).

Test dates: 17 & 18 February 2025 in person (subject to change)

 

Eligibility - Eliminatory test on 17/02/2025:

 

Participation in a classical dance class given by a Conservatoire teacher.

Duration: 1 hour

 

Candidates with a mark of less than 12 will be eliminated.

 

Successful candidates must attend the admission tests the following day.

 

 

Admission - Tests on 18/02/2025:

(only for candidates selected after the previous day's admission tests)

 

1 - Classical dance class given by a teacher from the Conservatoire's choreography department, including a series of compulsory routines.

Duration: 2 hours.

 

2 - Presentation of a classical variation of your choice (your own composition or from the repertoire), performed on pointe.

Duration of the variation: 1 to 2 minutes maximum.

The soundtrack of the admission variation must be uploaded to your candidate space by 31 January 2025 at the latest. If this is not done, we will consider that the candidate is presenting her variation in silence.

 

3 - Interview with the jury.

Duration: 10 minutes maximum

 

Each round will be marked out of 20. Candidates who obtain an overall mark (average of the three marks) of less than 12 will be eliminated.

 

N.B.: Candidates admitted to the entrance examination who are not nationals of French-speaking countries must present, before 30 June preceding their first enrolment at the Conservatoire, a certificate issued by a body approved by the French government attesting to a level of French at least equal to B1 on the Council of Europe's scale of common reference levels.
