Objectives and content
In the preparatory year, work focuses on strengthening and solidifying pointe work, so as to master the technical elements required for entry into the DNSP1 Classical class.
In DSNP1, it is essential to acquire both strength and resistance on pointe as well as work on releasing the foot to move towards a more fluid dance. Elements of great technique will be worked on in class exercises and within extracts from the repertoire.
DNSP2 students are expected to acquire a complete technique and develop their artistic personality. They will be confronted with different solo variations from the academic repertoire and will begin to grasp the technical difficulties involved, while at the same time beginning to develop different interpretative possibilities.
Artistic interpretation will play a major role in the DNSP3, where students will explore the repertoire and tackle a range of styles from Romanticism to Neoclassical to Academic.
