Objectives and content
The Women's Classical preparatory year is a year of harmonisation, of adaptation to a more intense rhythm, and is an introduction to classical dance as it is taught at the Conservatoire. During this year, work focuses mainly on awareness and mastery of placement, precision and technical reinforcement (coordination, shoulders, musicality). This year should enable students to acquire the technical level required for entry to the 1st Cycle, to become more independent and to affirm their commitment.
In DNSP1, the emphasis is on strengthening and consolidating placement.
Working in series on jumps and pointe is fundamental to acquiring strength and is necessary to make the technique more complex. Particular attention is paid to musicality, coordination and direction work, which is linked to eye placement.
The aim of the DNSP2 year is to develop students' technical mastery so that they can unleash their artistic creativity and confidently present variations from the classical repertoire on stage, with a view to obtaining their diploma at the end of DNSP3. Artistic development takes place alongside the acquisition of technique, with particular attention paid to the development of individual personality.
The DNSP3 class represents the final year of the 1st classical cycle. At the end of the school year, students present 2 variations and a personal composition on stage before a jury in order to obtain their performance certificate.
They will then audition for a company.
As well as helping the students to perfect their technique, the aim of this year is to make them aware of the relationship that the choreographic artist must establish between body, music and mind.
