Objectives and content
String quartet lessons are given weekly, for 1? hours per week and per group. Each group is assigned a teacher according to their study plan. At the start of the course, this teacher defines the precise objectives to be pursued, on the following basis:
1st upper cycle
In-depth knowledge of the repertoires specific to the group (including contemporary)
Notions of language, rhetoric and style
Development of rehearsal techniques (working on a table, adjusting equipment, managing a rehearsal)
Developing a group identity
Ability to perform in public
2nd advanced cycle
In-depth and critical knowledge of the repertoires specific to the group (including contemporary)
Creative work with composers
Advanced knowledge of language, rhetoric and style
In-depth study of rehearsal techniques
Definition of the group's artistic identity, professional project and professional integration strategy

Entry is automatic for all students on the courses concerned.

Assessment terms and conditions
1st HIGHER CYCLE
Final exam
Duration: 35 min. maximum
- Oral presentation of the ensemble and programme (max. 5 min.)
- Free programme consisting of a minimum of two works of different aesthetic styles, insofar as the repertoire allows.
2nd HIGHER CYCLE
1st year
Non-public recital
Duration: 40 minutes maximum- a free programme consisting of works of different styles and periods ;
- an oral commentary by the jury after deliberation.
2nd year
Public recital
Duration: 50 minutes maximum
