* Students who have not taken Introduction to Writing A must take an orientation test (registration via the form):
- Fabien Waksman: orientation test on Tuesday 17 September from 9am to 1pm, room 214
- Fabre Guin: orientation test on Thursday 19 September from 1pm to 5.30pm, room 440
- Hervé Jamet: orientation test on Friday 20 September from 9am to 1pm, room 418
This test will consist of :
- A given song (or alternating song and bass) for string quartet or for instrument and piano- One or more cadenzas to be played on the piano.The subject of the test will be common to all classes.
** Students who have obtained the A certificate with honours may be admitted to the introductory writing class B the following year, on application, subject to availability and within the time allowed for their course.

** Students who hold the A Honours certificate may also take part in this course , subject to a favourable opinion from their introductory writing teacher.

Assessment terms and conditions
The introductory B writing exam is the same as the entrance exam for the advanced writing cycle. Passing this examination with distinction enables entry to the advanced writing cycle.
1) Mise en loge n°1 of 8 hours: given song (string quartet) in classical or romantic style;
2) Mise en loge n°2 of 12 hours
- choral (for 4 mixed voices, in the old keys), in the style of Bach ;
- and bass fugue (for 4 mixed voices, in the old keys) in the Baroque style.
