-
Objectives and content
The aim of teaching musical training is :
- bringing fundamental solfeggio knowledge and practice up to standard, in relation to other aspects of higher education, in particular analysis and instrumental sight-reading ;
- the ability to apply all the theoretical elements of basic solfeggio training in ensemble practice.
The teaching of musical training is divided into three training modules, in relation to the aforementioned objectives.
Module C: Singing (oral)
Combines reading technique (intonation, rhythm, dynamics and phrasing) with the essential elements of stylistic understanding of a language (tonal or otherwise).

Entrance terms and conditions
Exemption examination (September)
After admission to the Conservatoire, students are required to sit an exemption examination in music training, which takes place in September. The syllabus for this exemption is identical to that for the certificate. Students may be exempted in full (all three modules), in part (one or two modules) or not at all (no modules).
Students who have obtained the ear training module with a mark of 42/60 or more, but who have a mark equal to or less than 3 out of 10 in the figured bass test, will have to validate this module definitively by taking 10 figured bass lessons before 15 February with the teacher of their choice.
If they fail to do so, they will have to sit all the written tests for the certificate again in June.
Students enrolled in Ecriture A are exempt from this refresher course.
