Currently principal bassoonist with the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Paris and certified teacher at the CRR de Créteil since November 2025, he taught at the CRR de Cergy-Pontoise for over 20 years.
After training with Robert Dalmasso at the CRR in Tours, he went on to study bassoon with Gilbert Audin at the CNSM in Paris, and chamber music with Maurice Bourgue and David Walter.
He was awarded a First Prize in Chamber Music in 1992 and a unanimous First Prize in Bassoon with congratulations from the jury in 1993, before entering the advanced cycle.
He has contributed to the international reputation of the French bassoon school by winning First Prize at the IDRS Competition in Bloomington (USA), First Prize at the JMECPS Competition in Tokyo (Japan), Second Prize at the CIEM Competition in Geneva (Switzerland), the Pierre Salvi Prize (France), Third Prize at the Toulon Wind Instruments Competition, and is a prizewinner at the Prague Spring Competition (Czech Republic).
Very attached to the practice of chamber music, he plays regularly in various formations ranging from trio to nonet in France and abroad.
He has performed as soloist with the Tokyo Sinfonia Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France, the Banff Festival Orchestra (Canada), the Garde Républicaine Orchestra and at the Festival Musical d'Automne des Jeunes Interprètes du Val-d'Oise.
Since 2015, Ludovic has been Professor of Didactics in the Pedagogy Department at the Paris Conservatoire.
