Professor of Aural and Musical Training for Singers — Collaborative Pianist
Sophie Pornin is Professor of Aural and Musical Training for Singers at the Bordeaux Conservatory
(CRR) and an experienced collaborative pianist. For over twenty years, she has pursued a dual
artistic and pedagogical career grounded in close work with vocalists.
Her artistic path has led her to perform in recital in France and abroad with artists such as Stanislas
de Barbeyrac, Adriana Bignagni-Lesca, and Bénédicte Lavaud (Maurice Ravel Prize).
She has also collaborated with the Maîtrise de Radio France, the Centre d’Art Polyphonique de
Paris, and various choral conductors.
Her musical activities include contemporary creation projects — among them the world premiere of
a work by Jean-Patrick Besingrand (Piano Day Festival) — as well as pedagogical collaborations
with Valérie Philippin (Montrez La Voix Festival).
Sophie Pornin is committed to developing an approach to musical training designed specifically for
singers — one that combines high standards, artistic autonomy, and the recognition of each
student’s individual learning style.
