Music analysis B
INFORMATIONS
-
Objectives and content
In particular, musical analysis should enable students to:
- acquire a genuine understanding of all the works covered in class, in a variety of styles, periods and genres;
- develop autonomy (listening skills, historical, technical and methodological knowledge) in relating theoretical knowledge to musical practice;
- Gradually acquire mastery of an analytical and stylistic discourse (terminology and concepts) put into perspective with historical and aesthetic approaches;
- Study of works from the 18th century to the present day: the great founding scores of the 20th century, as well as key works from the contemporary repertoire, will be studied, particularly in close connection with the students' instrumental work and/or with the Conservatoire's annual programme.
- Relating the works studied to the students' own musical practice (comparing interpretations, instrumental work, etc.);
- Awareness of the main analytical methodologies applicable to the repertoires studied, as well as an introduction to documentary research.
