Objectives and content
Giving as complete a picture as possible of the use of lutes and guitars from 1500 to 1800 in different situations: soloists, accompaniment, improvisation, by providing means of access: notations, instruments, current professional practice.
Introduction to the various instruments available at the Conservatoire (theorbo, baroque guitar).
Detailed study of the repertoire through direct listening to the teacher or recordings.
Detailed study of different tablature designs.
Concrete transcription work adapted to the student's needs.
Study of contributions to musical language (broken style, temperaments, verticality, beginnings of notated instrumental music, etc.).
