Objectives and content
Introduction to the job of dance accompanist.
Deciphering movement as a musical pattern.
Analysis of the relationship between music and dance.
Learning structured improvisation.
Accompanying dance classes, sequences and repertoire.

Entrance terms and conditions
Priority is given to students enrolled in the Accompaniment, Piano Accompaniment, Piano and Keyboard Improvisation programmes, and, for the contemporary module only, to students enrolled in the Percussion programme.
Accessible to all Conservatoire students subject to availability (selection after entrance test).
A group allocation meeting is held at the beginning of the year to determine the composition of the groups.

Assessment terms and conditions
Certificate examination
Duration: 20 minutes maximum
A sequence of work lasting approximately 20 minutes with a dance teacher, including accompaniment of extracts from classical and contemporary dance classes.

Duration of studies
1 year, possibly renewable on the advice of the teacher.
