Objectives and content
Encouraging autonomy within the group and a receptiveness to the environment, it develops an awareness of the other as a surface, a 'ground', a moving landscape: a tactile, weighted, musical and poetic partner.
Through an in-depth study of the skills and sensory knowledge specific to the practice, the teaching focuses on listening, being open to the present moment, the search for a broader sensoriality, the sense of play, decision-making, risk-taking... This study explores the fundamentals of movement through the use of "playgrounds" as ideal learning environments. Touch is the main vehicle for these relationships, guiding and helping to make contact with others, or any other support, an altruistic and playful dance, developing confidence in one's partner(s) and in oneself. Contact Improvisation is as much about exploration as it is about composition in real time, and its aim is to help choreographers master the tools they need.
