Objectives and content
Situated at the crossroads between music education, chamber music, instrumental and orchestral classes, the woodwind sight-reading class aims to :
- to acquire the quick reflexes needed to apply solfeggio, musical and instrumental knowledge to a new score, and above all to quickly grasp its musical content so as to give a true interpretation;
- It is also the first, decisive stage in learning to play as part of a group, thanks to ensemble sight-reading, which immediately encourages the development of the ability to listen to one's partners.
Both individual and collective, the course emphasises the concepts that are essential to ensemble playing: accuracy, rhythmic precision, nuances and flexibility of tone.
