Objectives and content
The course consists of a theoretical semester and a practical semester.
The theoretical semester consists of weekly 2-hour classes and provides an insight into France's cultural policies, the issue of cultural rights, the different definitions of mediation and the perception of mediation in Europe. Focus is placed on cultural structures such as national stages, opera houses, orchestras, ensembles and artistic education establishments. Numerous fields are explored thanks to the participation of professionals from partner structures: the school environment, hospitals and EHPAD, the disability sector, the prison environment. Mediation methods and typologies (pre-concerts, practice and creation workshops, long-term projects, multi-disciplinary work) are covered throughout the course. The semester also includes a research-mediation seminar.
The practical semester consists of an observation or mediation placement lasting more than 10 hours. This placement is carried out in a partner institution with a placement supervisor. It is the subject of a report in the form of an observation or activity report. -
Entrance terms and conditions
This course is intended for students at the CNSMDP, with the exception of students in the department of
Musicology and Analysis department, who benefit from a dedicated course within their curriculum. -
Assessment terms and conditions
The final mark awarded to the student includes :
- attendance during the first semester
- the mark for the observation or activity report in the second semester. The assessment is made in equal parts by the teacher and the placement tutor, the average of their marks constituting the mark for the report. -
Duration of studies
One year, two hours a week.
