Objectives and content
Assimilation of harmonisation, writing and arranging techniques.
Study of musical languages and harmonic discourse.
Writing for solo piano, for instrument and piano, for voice and piano and for instrumental ensembles.
Students benefit from laboratory work supervised and corrected by the teachers, based on the following elements: writing a lied for voice and piano in the style of Schumann, Brahms or R. Strauss, based on a given text and choice of incisions. Strauss. This work is taken as continuous assessment.2021-2022 programme: Mozart (song given for string quintet) / R. Strauss (opera vocal workshop) / Fauré (on incises for cello/piano)
2022-2023 programme: Schubert (song given for string quartet) / Franck, Chausson and Dupard (free workshop during the year) / Debussy (melody on text and incises)
Programme 2023-2024: Mozart (song given for string quartet) / Ravel (on incises for violin and piano) / Wagner (free workshop during the year)
Programme 2024-2025: Mozart (song for string quintet) / Fauré (on incises for cello and piano) / R. Strauss (free workshop during the year)

Entrance terms and conditions
Be enrolled in the advanced writing cycle.
The entrance examination is common to all the writing classes: Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue and Forms, 15th - 17thcentury Polyphony, 20th - 21st century Writing.
Candidates who are successful in the writing entrance examination may subsequently enrol in one or other of these disciplines without having to sit the tests again (or pay a new enrolment fee), without having to meet the age limit, and provided they have not interrupted their studies for more than one school year.
Subject to availability, it is possible to take several classes at the same time.

Assessment terms and conditions
1) Dressing room for 12 hours (9am to 9pm), without piano: given song
2) Dressing room 15 hours (8am to 11pm), with piano: Work on incises

Duration of studies
1 year (2nd year possible on the advice of the teacher and subject to availability).
