Objectives and content
Acquisition of elements of method and knowledge in the field of Art History.
- The first (12 hours of lessons, 6 sessions) is devoted to the study of general problems: visual analysis of an image (painting, sculpture), creative techniques (painting, sculpture, architecture), definitions and distinctions of styles and periods, symbolism, notions of aesthetics, the relationship between art and music;
- The second (22 sessions) is devoted to the study of the arts to apply and deepen the knowledge previously acquired, from prehistory to the contemporary period.

This course is open to all Conservatoire students (subject to availability).

Assessment terms and conditions
Written assessment of knowledge for each part of the programme.
Presentation of a piece of personal work comprising a descriptive part which uses an analytical methodology and documentary research, together with a summary and personal reflection.
If a dissertation is produced as part of this course and assessed at the end of the year, it may be validated as a personal work of study (TEP) after submission to the commission for the validation of prior learning (VAA).
