INFORMATIONS

  • Objectives and content

    Analytical study of reference bodies of work from the 18th century to the present day, based around performers playing 'live' (repertoire for solo instrument, chamber music, voices and instruments). The work will focus more specifically on the different methodologies, theories and approaches to analysis, the study of compositional techniques, the links between analytical and interpretative issues, and current research.

Bach: The Well-Tempered Clavier</p> <p>Debussy: Mélodies</p> <p>Messiaen: Quartet for the End of Time</p> <p> </p> <p>The year's programme may be extended to include repertoire proposed and played by performers enrolled on the course and other occasional proposals (orchestral sessions, contemporary repertoire, other Conservatoire collective projects).</p>
  • Entrance terms and conditions

    This workshop is open to all students at the Conservatoire, subject to availability; students on the1st cycle must have passed the Analysis A certificate.

  • Assessment terms and conditions

    This certificate is awarded on the basis of attendance and the submission at the end of the year of an analytical paper of approximately 4 pages on an extract from the corpus studied during the year.

  • Duration of studies

    1 year (a2nd year is possible with the teacher's agreement)
