    OBJECTIVES

    1st year:

    • To know how to use a camera to construct an image
    • Know how to light a subject
    • Know how to communicate with technical lighting teams on live performance and filming projects.
    • Acquire the basic elements needed to produce a methodical musical recording.
    • Learn to characterise the aesthetics of image representation in relation to the repertoire
    • Learn how to build a recording project

    2nd year:

    • Master all the tools and knowledge (theoretical, analytical and aesthetic) relating to filming in classical music, jazz, amplified music, etc.
    • Understand the issues involved in the artistic direction of a recording
    • Understand the challenges of editing in classical music and develop confidence in choosing takes, managing collaboration with the artistic sound director and a sense of how to construct an edit.

    CONTENT

    Practical photography and filming sessions during rehearsals, concerts and performances by musicians and dancers at the Paris Conservatoire.

    <ul> <li>14 practical sessions of 3 hours<ul> <li>5 devoted to lighting </li> <li>2 on photography and shot construction</li> <li>2 devoted to developing a camera shot (3 cameras)</li> <li>3 devoted to an introduction to video editing</li> <li>2 hours devoted to the production of a concrete filming project</li> </ul> </li> </ul>
