INFORMATIONS

  • Objectives and content

    The course is aimed at rhythm students (pianists, guitarists, vibraphonists, bassists and drummers). Groups are formed by year.

    A rotating timetable allows each group (1st,2nd or3rd year) to work alternately with the 3 teachers.

  • Programme
    <p>Develop reflexes and interactivity within the rhythm section.</p> <p>Understand and assimilate the mechanics of accompanying soloists - singers or solo instrumentalists are invited to classes from time to time.</p> <p> </p> <p>Work on the various 'tandems' within the rhythm section.</p> <p>Work on polyrhythms and equivalences.</p> <p> </p> <p>The repertoire used as a basis for the work is made up of standards specific to the rhythm section, current and original compositions or free improvisations.</p>
  • Assessment terms and conditions

    The teachers draw up a list of pieces that the students have to perform in front of a jury, demonstrating their mastery of the accompaniment as well as their ability to react and interact within the rhythm section.

    These pieces are chosen from a broader list given at the beginning of the year, which serves as a basis for weekly work.
