Objectives and content
OBJECTIVES
- To acquire sufficient knowledge to be able to produce a visual object or a film by mastering all the stages of its production (conception, writing, cutting, production, shooting and post-production).
- Identify and understand the expectations and demands of the project team (specifications, artistic choices, budget, requests from the artist or client, etc.).
- Script a music video based on a given musical extract: choose the shooting locations -outside or in the studio- choose the technical resources, define the image, lighting, choose and use the machinery (slider, gimbal, drone, overhead camera), shoot in playback, etc.
- Ability to define a budget, shooting schedule and timetable, and to organise production and post-production.
- Notion of directing, directing actors, musicians, dancers, etc.
- Understanding how to work alone or as part of a team (from preparation to shooting and post-production)
- Ability to use a camera or stills camera in solo mode. Light and sound management (with a simple recorder such as Zoom H...)
- Understanding of multiple angles in single-camera mode
- Shooting on different types of location (studio, recording room, exterior, etc.)
- Notion of using special effects (filming against a green background for overlay, using After Effects, 2D and 3D animation, titling)
- How to write, construct and share a storyboard
- Be able to edit and synchronise rushes with playback sound
- To have a thorough knowledge of colour grading in order to finalise the project.

Assessment terms and conditions
Public presentation of a film (e.g. with the creation of a mini festival at the Conservatoire to present the end-of-year work of the Image Music Director course) followed by a debate with the audience and/or the jury.
