Be able to convey ideas unambiguously.
Be able to exchange and communicate in English as part of a professional project.
Content
Raising students' awareness of current events and life in the international sound industry by reading and researching technological, scientific and societal articles.
The aim of the course is to give students regular practice in listening to and understanding technical English, and to give them the opportunity to discuss subjects relating to the sound professions. Over the course of the year, each student will present a topic orally and write an article in English. The topics will be chosen freely and will be drawn from current scientific and technological research related to the sound professions.
The course content is based on a wide range of scientific and technological documentary resources (contributions published by the AES, topical issues relating to the sound professions, etc....). Each week, students prepare a topic by reading the content set by the teacher. This topic will be discussed in English during the following lesson.
Every year, the students go to the AES congress, where they have to attend the conferences and workshops and seize the opportunity to meet the speakers and, more generally, the international professional community.
