Objectives and content
OBJECTIVES
- To know how to choose, define and share (work plan, writing, concept note, synopsis, bible, storyboard) directorial intentions
- To be able to communicate your intentions effectively to the producers, and then to the technicians, to ensure an overall understanding of the project
- Be able to create a clear narrative for the audience
- Acquire the ability to federate artistic and technical teams around a project, to have an overall vision, as well as all the stages of a production (knowledge of the different trades and their specificities)
- Being able to cover an orchestral rehearsal with a single camera, so as to cover enough angles to obtain a rich and varied montage (understanding how a musical rehearsal or recording works, the issues involved, managing existing lighting or creating/adding to it, setting up and managing an interview, mastering a camera, range of fixed or zoom lenses, managing rushes, editing a clip, EPK or documentary).
- Scripting a music video based on a given musical extract: choosing locations for filming - outdoors or in the studio - choosing technical resources, defining the image, lighting, choosing and using machinery (slider, gimbal, drone, overhead camera), playback shooting.
- Notion of staging, directing actors, musicians, dancers, etc.
- Use of special effects (filming against a green background, use of After Effects, titling).
CONTENT
- Theory: audiovisual languages, scriptwriting, sequencing, writing, dramatic structures and progressions, processes, etc.
- Tutorial: following the study and analysis of sequences (supervised), a stylistic exercise with the aim of creating a short sequence in a targeted aesthetic.
- Practical work: production of personal projects

Assessment terms and conditions
Production of a document, audiovisual object or performance by musicians and dancers.
