  • Objectives and content

    The course is aimed at singers who wish to tackle the Baroque repertoire as a soloist or in an ensemble.

  • Programme
    <p>The most representative genres and styles of the Baroque period will be covered (the "stile recitativo" in 17th-century Italian opera, oratorio and cantata, the madrigal, the air de Cour and the tragédie lyrique in 17th-century France, the masque and 17th-century opera in England, the Italian opera seria and aria da capo in the 18th century, the French cantata and 18th-century French opera, etc.).</p>
  • Entrance terms and conditions

    This compulsory course is open to 2nd cycle singing students.

  • Assessment terms and conditions

    Each student will propose a programme of works worked on during the year, drawn up in agreement with the teacher. From this programme, the student will sing an aria of his/her choice and the rest of his/her performance (up to a maximum of 15 minutes of music) will be chosen by the jury.
