Course objectives and content
Further knowledge :
Acquire a level of specialisation in kinetography,
Acquire a level of mastery enabling the application of other Labanian reference points: Labanian studies of movement and the application of kinetography.
In-depth development of critical reflection on the ways in which kinetography is used.
Transcription :
Drawing up a score of a choreographic work or an extract from a work with its introduction and glossary,
Depending on the context, use kinetography or the three areas of Labanian studies.
Transmission :
Transmit, in a professional context, a choreographic work from a kinetographic score, contextualise the work and develop a point of view when staging and performing it.
Teaching :
Use movement symbolisation and Labanian movement analysis in improvisation and composition workshops,
Teaching kinetography (amateur or professional audiences).
Knowing how to identify and use the noted corpus within a pedagogical framework.

The selection is open to candidates:
Holders of the1st cycle diploma in Laban movement notation awarded by the CNSMDP.
Or who fulfil the followingthree conditions:
Proof of a level equivalent to the1st cycle advanced diploma in Laban movement notation;
Dance artists (performer-choreographer), dance teachers and other movement professionals or researchers interested in the art of choreography who have developed a good memory for movement;
Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma.
For candidates who do not meet one of the conditions set out in points 3 and4, the director of the establishment, after consulting the teaching staff, may, by way of exception and on the basis of a reasoned request from the candidate, grant them permission to sit the admission tests.
Admission tests :
File of approximately 5 pages setting out the two specialisation projects that the candidate plans to carry out during his/her training. The choice is between
- preparation of a score and performance of a work based on a score
- creating a score and teaching kinetography.
An interview lasting 20 to 30 minutes in which the candidate explains why he or she wishes to continue with the 2nd cycle. He or she will orally present the two specialisation projects he or she has chosen and the professional prospects he or she plans to pursue once he or she has obtained his or her diploma.
The jury is made up of members from within and outside the school.
The jury draws up a list of admitted candidates, with a waiting list if necessary.
Proficiency in French (B2)
Candidates who are successful in the competitive entrance examination for the2nd cycle who are not nationals of French-speaking countries must, if this is their first enrolment at the Conservatoire, present, before 10 December 2021, a certificate issued by a body approved by the French government, attesting to a level of French at least equal to B2 on the Council of Europe's scale of common reference levels.
