  • Objectives and content

    The teaching of the instrument focuses on :

    • in-depth study of instrumental technique, its development and its application to the modern accordion repertoire.
    • study of the French accordion repertoire and the variety of styles (virutose pieces, concertante pieces from the 1960s, modern musette, contemporary solo and chamber music repertoire).
    • study of the most representative accordion schools in the world (Scandinavian, Russian, Polish, Finnish, Canadian, etc.) in order to identify their stylistic particularities.
    • study of the contemporary repertoire (Berio, Ligeti, Denisov, Goubaidoulina, Linberg, Nordheim, Kagel, Hosokawa, Zolotarev, etc.) and its technical and artistic contributions.
    • work on adapting transcriptions and arrangements.
    • developing instrumental group playing (from duet to accordion octet) and discovering this repertoire as part of the CNSMDP accordion ensemble.
