Applications – Dance
This course, meant for dancers from diverse backgrounds, addresses all aspects of the profession to train the complete, versatile artists of tomorrow. Combining the classical and contemporary techniques that make the global renown of French teaching, it integrates students to the Ensemble Chorégraphique du Conservatoire, a one-of-a-kind pre-professional company. Through diverse and exciting projects, participants experience studio, stage and tour work with the world’s greatest choreographers and staff from leading companies, including William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Mats Ek, Jérôme Bel, the Trisha Brown Dance Company and the LA Contemporary Dance Company.
The comprehensive training and connections which underline this program aim at projecting students towards professional life with an open, creative mindset and a full array of skills. This is supported by an internships scheme, an international exchange policy designed to expand participants’ network and prospects, and a wide range of complementary classes. The curriculum includes the history and analysis of dance styles as well as notions in physio-kinesiology, artistic management, labor law and outreach. All these assets prepare dancers at the highest level, bound to work with prominent international companies, able to build and implement their own projects.
Finally, the Conservatoire welcomes students to a friendly, caring environment at the heart of Parisian life. A health center staffed with a doctor, two physiotherapists, a nurse and a nutritionist, ensures learning that respects each dancer’s body and its needs. Partnerships with leading venues allow participants to attend the landmark shows of today’s dance scene. A generous set of government and donor-funded scholarships make studies possible for disadvantaged students and those from distant countries.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is normally required; the Directorate for Dance studies may allow case-by-case exceptions.
Apply here until 1 June (international applicants only).
